Road Runner, Gypsy, World Traveler, M.I.A. (missing in Action) and the list goes on and on. All of these are words that have been used to describe me. I have been on the road for the past several weeks and I am trying to wrap my brain around the fact that in less than a week, I will be back in Haiti. I am so excited. This excitement does not come without a flood of other emotions.
Joy for the opportunity to go back to a country that I didn’t realize how much I love until recently.

Apprehension because I left this country very, very, ill.

Grateful for the healing power of the Lord and favor with doctor’s and other people.

Over the moon that the Lord would choose me and trust me with these assignments.

I have had many questions about whether I should go back to Haiti or not. I keep hearing, You were sick there. Cholera is there. Fighting is there. The whole country is in turmoil. While this is all true, what I haven’t heard people say is that God is there! He still has His hand on Haiti and He has His hands on me! I trust Him to continue to protect me and the people of Haiti. I love Him just that much.

The last few days my heart has been full with prayers for my dear Jouvens. If you don’t remeber him, please read my previous blog here: http://toyamac.myadventures.org/?filename=the-haitian-who-has-stolen-my-heart

I wasn’t able to post a photo then, but here he is!!!

Jouvens is now 11 months old. He will be a year old on Dec. 15th and I hope that I will be able to visit him on his birthday. I am unsure of where he is now and how he is doing. I did get the opportunity to visit him in the orphanage and he was doing well. I found out that his parents come to visit him and that he has two older siblings, a brother and a sister. They were not badly hurt in the earthquake and they are living with his parents somwhere in Haiti. His parents would like to have him back but it’s not up to them, it’s up to the Haitian government and right now I’m sure that they are not on the government’s mind.

I am prayerful that He will be able to go back to his parents. Just before I left Haiti, I spoke to the orphanage and they are recommending that he is placed back with his parents but they don’t know what the government will decide. I am also still prayerful about what my role is supposed to be in his life. I love, love, love this baby and I look at this picture several times a day. He has truly stolen my heart and I don’t believe he came into my life by accident!

Will you pray for Jouvens, his family and the nation of Haiti. Haiti has elections today and the country is in a bit more turmoil than usual. Please keep me in your prayers as well, I will be there until next year! 2011 is right around the corner! I am unsure what internet access will look like so it could be a while before you hear from me again.

Upon my return, the plan is to head to Cameroon to do some work there. I am still in need of $900 for this trip. If you need a year end tax deduction, this could be good for you! Any amount helps. You can make your check out to the National Christian Foundation and mail to: me at P.O. Box 1735 –  Gainesville, Ga 30503!

Blessings to you for a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous new year!
