- A white guy yelling black, black!! in creole when a Haitian yells White, White to him.
- 50 Cent and Jesus painted on the same bus
- Goats and cows walking down the street
- Jesus and a topless woman painted on a bus
- Pigs eating from giant trash piles as you drive down the road
- Left turns from the far right lane
- people walking into the middle of traffic while putting their hand up to stop the cars, and the cars stop to let them cross!
- A little boy peeing on the side of the road who stops peeing to wave hello to the foreigners
You know you’ve been in Haiti too long when:
- Wow, you don’t smell!!! is a greeting that doesn’t offend you
- you compare how stories on the longest time you have gone without bathing
- the lights go out and no one moves, you just keep doing whatever you were doing. (we only have a few hours of electricity a day, if that.)
- Something very wrong happens and the entire room says, This is Haiti, simultaneously.
