Our God is still in the miracle making business!!!!
What a pleasant surprise to find out that Libby Claire was released from the hospital on Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who says miracles aren’t for our time???? 🙂
Thank you for all of your prayers. Continue to keep her family lifted up as they go through this time of recovery.

What joy to receive this news in the midst of a hectic and emotional week.

Lydia has also gone home from the hospital in Cameroon. Her legs were placed in casts on July 18th and she left the hospital last week. She is recovering nicely and happy to be at home. I will let you know when she takes her first steps out of casts.

Thank you Lord for showing favor on these families by bringing joy in the midst of pain. Thank you for teaching us to trust you no matter what. You have things under control. Thank you for strengthening the faith of those who witnessed these miracles.

Dad’s turn on night shift at the hospital…I
just heard another paci hit the floor and it brought such joy to my
heart. See, one of Libby’s favorite things to do at home is to throw
her paci’s out of the crib (which she has to have at least three – one
in her mouth and one in each hand – when she goes to sleep). She knows
that mom or dad will come by and put them back in, so each night
without fail, we will go in and check…sure enough paci’s are all over
the floor…well today was the best day yet! After the fun of seeing that
beautiful smile yesterday, we were amazed today to watch our little
Libby just come right to life…personality and all! I began this
morning playing with her little feet (tootsies in our house)…she smiled
like she did yesterday. But then I started tickling her legs and she
began laughing. I asked Libby if she could point to her nose…she did.
Then her ears and eyes and so on. So I took out her paci and she gave
me this look like what are you about to do. I asked her if she could
say “Hi”…she did! Then she said Dada, Moma, Mac, Beau Bear, Maggie and
so on…I asked her if she could give me a smile and this time she had
that “Libby Claire shrugged shoulder, squinty eyes, super smile”
showing not only a smile, but all that personality behind it. The day
got better as we got her up she gave us “high fives”, blew bubbles,
gave hugs and kisses and even blew kisses to us like she has always
liked to do. She made all the animal sounds when we asked her like,
what does a puppy dog say? It is all there…it is just taking time and
as she regains her strength she is showing off more and more! The
doctors and nurses have been amazed…many of whom will pop in just to
see who this Libby Claire is that they have seen on signs and banners
around their neighborhoods and across their e-mail. We have seen
friends who work in and around the hospital, many of whom we haven’t
seen in many years…it has been nice being home! The flight nurses who
brought Libs up from FL have come by each day to check on her. One of
them even came by today before taking flight to let us know that they
were going to do a “fly-by” in front of our hospital window. They did
it for Libby…it was so cool…they are awesome! Libby is a very strong
girl and she is making great progress with a ways yet to go…but I
believe God hears the prayers of His people…and I also believe that God
has been so moved by the many prayers, that He has worked such an
amazing miracle in the life of this precious girl…from the bottom of
our hearts, thank you for your prayers, for your love and support! We
could never express enough our deepest gratitude for the love displayed
by so many.
Oh…there goes another paci…must be nigh-night time…Good Night Libby…daddy loves you…

where do i even begin?
if
anyone has ever questioned libs spunk or her will they should see her
now. each day she seems to amaze all the doctors, nurses, & staff
here at cmc. her daddy & i are not shocked. we knew she would
surpass everything that she was up against & very quickly. today
was awesome. her neuro came in this morning & cleared her to go
home, with gentle care! awesome! then her rehab doctor came in. loved
what she saw & even thinks she will do better with out patient
rehab, not here in patient. awesome! then speech cleared her again for
all liquids & foods. awesome! one after the other, we got great
news. she is really ready to go home. she really cries when nurses or
doctors come in and seems to get really agitated when they are around.
i can’t blame her. she is constantly “messed” with. matt & i do
feel that she will respond better being at home. even begin to do the
things she was doing before. we are all ready for the challenge, ready
& willing!
today, the smiles continued, the games, the eating, the drinking, the
playing. i love it! she got to take a wagon ride & go outside. we
visited the playroom with big brother mac. she was really into playing
with mac today.
ortho came in this morning &
measured her for her little helmet. she will wear it until her next
surgery. we asked for a hot pink one but who knows what she will get.
they will have it to us sometime tomorrow. yeah! then we will be ready
to go home!
psalm 100 rings in my heads & sings in my heart!
than
k you again for all the prayers & support! once you see her you
will see the work of Christ & gaze upon the glory of Jesus.
pleas
e pray for mac while he is away, libs to continue to heal, rest &
recover (& DRINK still a challenge for her) & all the children
here who will not get to go home tomorrow. thank you
