It’s time for ministry on the Navajo Reservation.
This journey began on Thurs. afternoon with Lyndsay and I climbing aboard the big black Ford F-150 to make our journey across country. (Thanks Mike for loading everything for us!!!)
We arrived safely around 7 p.m. on Friday night. We drove straight through only stopping for gas and once to have a meal. It’s a rule that you can’t drive across country without stopping at Cracker Barrel. 🙂 We had a great time getting to know one another, listening to worship music and teaching.
I spent today putting our ministry schedule together, creating chore charts and shopping for the food and evangelism supplies for the team. 6 hours and $800 later I finally finished. I have to drive one hour each way to buy the supplies so I tried to get as much as possible in one trip. I also did it alone so it took a bit more time. The team arrives tomorrow (Sunday) Hopefully they will arrive in time for church on the Reservation. This will be my first time worshipping with American Indians. I’m sure it will be interesting.
Please pray for Lydsay. She is not feeling well, she’s having problems with her eyes and her stomach is upset. I am also concerned that she may be getting dehydrated as we are above 7000 feet and she isn’t drinking much. High Altitude can mess with you. Keep her in prayer.
Pray for wisdom for all of us as we begin ministry tomorrow. Spritual warfare is great out here. Pray for the team, they are driving from Iowa in two 15 passenger vans. Drunk Driving seems to be pretty rampant around here so cover them in prayer for traveling mercies.
More to come as ministry gets moving and I have time.
You, Lydsay and the team from Iowa will be in constant prayer. Thanks for this update and those to come. Wish I could be there with you in person, but definitly in spirit.
Continued blessings for you, sister
Toya,
We miss you at the office already! I will pray for you,Lydsay, and your week of ministry. When I picture you traveling across country, driving a truck, it makes me smile. Do you have a rifle hanging in the back window? Are you wearing a cowboy hat?
Praying for you all! Peace.
Greetings from Rozetta……..we are covering you in prayer. Look forward to hearing how the Lord works in your midst……
Good to hear from you Toya…..will be praying for you, Lyndsay and the group…..that this time in New Mexico would be awesome and full of GOD surprises!!!
We’re so happy that you made it safely to NM! You put a whole new spin on the term “road warriors.” We’ll continue to pray for Lindsay to be well and for you and the team. Did you see the Lopez family and/or Lucy Charley at First Nations Gathering this morning? Lots of love to the Bristows, too.
