Life in Ga has been interesting thus far.
I have slowly gotten moved in and indoctrinated into this Com Life experience. Living in Community is no joke.

There are always people around. You will never be lonely living here! Along with that comes lack of privacy, bathroom time and space at a premium (one sign here says, don’t assume because the door is closed that no one is going to come in!) Someone is always going to be in your business, and lots and lots and lots of food. (it’s not the healthy stuff either)

On the flip side, you always have someone to talk to if you need it,someone to laugh or cry with, there is an abundance of people willing to pray with you at any given moment. They would all drop whatever they are doing for you to go into prayer for whatever you need, they will be your greatest critics but also your greatest source of comfort and support. We are here to learn together, lean on each other and hold each other accountable. It’s fabulous and frustrating all at the same time. I must be honest with you though, right now there is no place I would rather be! I would ask you to say a special prayer for Barton – he is the only guy in a house full of women!!!! He needs some special lifting up!

We started a Bible Study this morning on the book of Acts. Simply phenomenal. We are  all challenging each other and digging in. We realized this morning that there were 12 disciples and there are 12 of us! We don’t yet know the significance of this yet but it was definitely  an AHA moment. I can’t wait for us to go deeper into the study.

Last week we went on a prayer journey at a Middle School. We met with one of the staff and then spent time praying for the school in general, the students and the staff. What a powerful experience.

Tonight a few of us spent time volunteering at a homeless shelter.  What a humbling an exciting experience. With the state of our economy now there are people visiting shelters who never thought they would have to. Please keep these people in your prayers. Not just the one’s here but all over our country. Families are being ripped apart because of the economy. It was a pleasure to serve these men, women and children. In the back of my head I kept thinking, but for the grace of God, it could be me.  Can I challenge you today? No matter what financial state you are in, spend some time thanking God for your home, food, water and your basic necessities being covered. We spend so much time complaining that we can’t have this and that but God has still blessed us with so much.

Thank you Lord that my needs are met. I am so grateful for what I have and that you take care of me every day. Forgive me for my negative attitude or spirit of complaining. Help me to remember how much you have done for me already. You never leave us or forsake us…  We trust you to meet all of our needs.
