Greetings Everyone!
My energy levels are coming back up and I am slowly moving back into the real world.
When I first returned home my days were spent sleeping or running back and forth to doctors. While I am still sleeping a bit more than normal, I am awake much more than I have been the past few weeks.
Some dear friends picked me up and took me to the beach for a week and then I was able to spend some time at their church and in their home. Even though I was still a bit zombie like from all of the medication, it was a great time of refreshment. The ocean is my favorite place and just to be able to sit on the balcony and hear the waves, and smell the ocean air was absolutely delightful! I didn’t take one picture while I was there but you will have to take my word for it, it’s beautiful! Thanks Tam and Tom. Love you guys!!!!!!
Last week, I was able to visit one of my favorite churches, Rozetta Baptist Church! It was great to be there without a bunch of snow on the ground. The people of Rozetta are fantastic! They love each other and they love me! I’m so grateful. I was able to speak to the entire Sunday school, at the main church service and spent some time with the two youth groups on Sunday night. The rest of my time was spent being a human jungle gym for the Bennett children! (7 from 13 down to 4, and one day with their grandchild, Asher who is 4) I love kids and miss being a jungle gym to my nieces so it was great. Hopefully next time, I will be able to run around with them a bit more. My last day culminated with me having a combine ride at the Clark family farm!! Yippee. That was great and I could have ridden with Brad all day long. Thanks Clark family. I hope those 1800 acres are harvested easily without too much rain!! You can see video of my combine ride at the bottom of the blog. Just in case I am technology challenged, here is another link:

I will be visiting several churches in the next several weeks to discuss what the Lord is doing in Haiti, if you are interested in me coming to your church, please let me know!
Many of you are wondering what is happening next. I will be working with our Church 2 Church program for Haiti and will be leading some small domestic trips. If the Dr. clears me in October then I will head back to Haiti in December to lead some trips for our church to church program. Find out more about our church to church program here:
In the meantime, I will be in the office a few days a week and working on getting my Georgia certification for my medical stuff so that I can get some part-time temp work here. I hope to go back to Cameroon in the early part of next year. Jan or Feb. I don’t have dates because I have not spoken to the orphanage there and I will not until I have clearance from the Dr. to leave the country again. I will let you know as soon as I have dates. I will need to raise about $2500 for this trip! In addition to trip costs I hope to raise another $1500 for medical expenses for a child or children in Cameroon. (similar to when I raised money for Lydia’s surgery on her legs) This is separate from AIM and money will need to be donated to my support account with the National Christian Foundation. Please email me for more info.
I have Macy’s discount shopping passes for use on Oct. 16th. You donate $5 to my missionary support and you receive a 20% percent off shopping pass good all day. You also receive a coupon for 25% off one single item. I have them and can send you one if you want to donate! The coupons are good at any Macy’s and can be used online.
Finally – my ministry time in Haiti was spent in so many ways but one of the orphanages there truly touched my heart. Foyer de la Providence Orphanage has 25 kids. 23 girls and two little boys. It is run by Madame Gustave, her husband and her daughter. In the 80’s Madame Gustave was with many other people on a boat in Haiti when the boat sank. She , her daughter and one other child survived. After her survival, she took that child in and started an orphanage to help other children without families. The kids there are amazing. I asked Madame Gustave what the top 3 needs for their orphanage are: 1. Food and Clean Drinking water 2. Clothes and shoes for the kids 3. Money for school Fees. We were able to help them with some of this while I was in Haiti. We provided rice, beans an oil and we paid for 10 of the girls school fees. We also took many donations of clothes but we were not able to get all of the kids sizes before I left. I would like to raise $5000. to go towards the specific needs of this orphanage. The money will be raised through AIM and will be used for the needs listed above. My last team in Haiti has already raised $1000. for this orphanage and I hope to raise more. Email me to find out how you can help.
