Things are going well. Everyone is so loving and we have been accepted very well. The team had some struggles getting here. They went through several snow storms and icy roads but they made it and they are rearing to go.

We woke up to 6 inches of snow and by the time we left for church it was doing some kind of precipitation that niether Lyndsay or I could identify.  (Church starts at 2:00 p.m. because the Native Americans are night owls. – Does that say Toya or what? I love it!) I drove the truck through some pretty ugly mud puddles and some serious snow but we are still alive. Lydnsay has decided that I don’t get to drive in bad weather which is just fine with me. 🙂 We have decided to name the truck Hoss and I will be taking pictures of it covered in mud to share with you.

We had a great first night. We had dinner, prayer, and meet and greet with Diane and Duane. They are the base directors here. Diane was diagnosed with a rare disease that I can’t remember the name of right now. She spent seven months in the hospital and was completely paralyzed. God has healed her. (continuing to do so) Diane is doing GREAT!!! She can move her head, arms and legs again and is walking with a walker and assistance from her husband.
The team went to play volleyball tonight with the Native Americans on the reservation. They dove right in and broke the ice really well.  Since our ministry time here is very relational and will only happen if we can develop some trust, ,this was an important first step. We stayed out until 11:00 p.m. (when they finally kicked us out of the gym) and then they still wanted to worship and pray. Imagine that!!! They finally called it quits around 12:45 a.m.

So here I sit “talking” with you and thanking my Papa for His goodness. I love the Lord and what He is doing in me and the people around me.

It has been a long good day. I know it’s only day one and the enemy will want to steal, kill and destroy all that has gone on thus far but I will be equipping myself and will be ready for the fight!
