God is up to something…
God is good!
I have been busy, busy, busy speaking to churches and individuals about getting more involved in missions.
It has been quite the experience thus far. On Sunday I went to a Palm Sunday Service. When speaking with the Pastor before the service started, he instructed me to come up to the pulpit and sit with the ministers when they came out. YIKES!! I said, you want me to go into the pulpit? His response, “Well, you are a Missionary right?” “That’s a minister of the Gospel” and he walks off!
I sat where I was instructed and to my surprise when it was time for the offering, they called me up to pray over it. Double YIKES!
Needless to say, I am out of my comfort zone but clearly God is stretching me.
I had the pleasure of speaking to the Missions Committee at Galilee Episcopal Church last night. What a joy it was to meet these individuals. They listened attentively and asked challenging questions. They prayed over me before I left and Ms. Claire spoke a word over me from Isaiah.
Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations that do not know you will hasten to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.”
I drove home with tears in my eyes. When I was in my quiet time at home, I was reminded of my visit to AIM in December. When I had a meeting with the “powers that be,” Scott Borg told me that people would be drawn to me. Truthfully, I forgot this until last night. I hate being in front of people or in the spotlight. I have tried to live most of my life being invisible so this is a lot to swallow. To say that God is moving me out of my comfort zone is an understatement! I don’t know what His plans are but He is definitely up to something.
Pray that I will continue to be obedient no matter how uncomfortable I am. I desperately want to be who He is calling for me to be and to do all that He wants me to do. Pray that the hearts of the people I meet will be touched to partner with me and AIM in our endeavors to reach the world for Christ.
